2017 has continued the trend of steady hiring within the Corporate Strategy sector with consistent levels of hiring across the market. Strategy candidates were in demand, especially those hired to help businesses drive and implement growth plans. As most companies wanted to further expand its existing operations or to enter new markets, candidates with backgrounds in Corporate Strategy, Planning, and Market Development were highly sought after.
As some companies opted to focus on organic growth and less on acquisitions, demand decreased for candidates with a Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisition background. To support business growth, candidates with customer centricity and customer experience were in high demand as companies aimed to retain and attract their target market. To sustain growth models, candidates with innovation and business development experience were in high demand to help improve existing operations and deliver on targets.
For the remainder of the year, we expect the hiring levels for internal corporate strategy and planning positions to remain consistent as companies aim to become more agile and competitive in the market.
