Back in early April, the Hong Kong government issued a 14-day closure order for all beauty parlours and treatment centres, which then got extended for another 14 days till early May. While these establishments can reopen under stricter regulations on 8th May, the 28 days closure period has forced organisations to consider crisis management and business continuity plans, leading to frozen headcounts in both retail frontline and back-office positions, leaving only critical positions open for hire.
With loosened social distancing regulations and companies returning to the office earlier this week, things will hopefully have a more optimistic outlook as we begin to look into post-COVID recovery.
COVID-19 Advisory Service
Argyll Scott is happy to provide FREE advisory services to help organisations coach employees who have been made redundant during the recent pandemic. This is a unique service for those who cannot afford full-term outplacement services but would still like to aid their former employees. Recently, I’ve successfully hosted a 1-1 workshop for one of my retail clients, on topics like COVID-19 market update, coping with change, writing a professional resume, personal branding & exposure, as well as job hunting & interview tips.
