A major banking group in Hong Kong was looking for a replacement Departmental Head in Risk Management to lead three teams across market risk, operational risk and risk analytics. The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) needed the hire to be the perfect fit, so engaged us exclusively due to our history of successful prior placements in their Risk department.
The biggest challenge was finding a candidate with in-depth experience in all three areas, so we discussed and agreed priorities with the hiring manager to help guide our search in the key direction first. We mapped candidates in the Banking sector and scheduled meetings with those who met the criteria, eventually presenting our shortlist to the CRO, who interviewed four of them, with one going all the way.
