Finance director is a member of a senior executive team in the cluster with responsibility for their company's financial health. FD combines operational and strategic roles, manage accounting and financial control functions, and establish a financial strategy for the profitable long-term growth of the business. FD leads two key functions, FP&A and F&A, and is responsible to establish a high-performing finance team while cultivating and developing finance talents to their highest potentials.

FP&A:

FP&A professionals are business partner to Commercial and Operations Team, driving great performance by generating high quality and insightful plan and forecasts, analyzing the performance against those plans and proactively working in collaboration with other teams to improve performance. Main responsibilities focus on 3 key areas, Budgeting, Forecasting and Modelling, Decision Support & Advice, and Special Projects

1. Budgeting, Forecasting and Modelling

  • Connect and drive the company strategic plan to reality by developing insightful annual Budget and Mid-Term Plan to achieve management's strategic target
  • Lead forecasting process i.e. Monthly forecast, Current Estimate and Latest Estimate or Outlook with data analytics and commercial insights
  • Build financial models / tools to support robust planning and forecasting processes as well as variance analysis
  • Drive quality financial management reports with accuracy and visibility
  • Liaise with Regional/HQ team on all financial planning activities

2. Decision Support & Advice

  • Advise management on decisions using data analysis to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and with external environment
  • Set Business KPIs on a monthly basis
  • Monitor and drive company actual performance vs. LY, Budget, Forecast, KPIs through various analysis. Identify key variances and underlying reasons/root cause
  • Partner proactively with cross-functional team to identify risks & opportunities on both top and bottom line. Find mitigation plans for gap closure and follow-up on the implementation of ideas/actions.
  • Provide financial supports/advice to commercial team in managing A&P, Trade Spend, Revenue Management, NPDs and Trade promotions.

3. Special Projects

  • Identify process improvement opportunities constantly to increase efficiency
  • Evaluate Capital Expenditure with financial analysis/modeling and optimize return on investment
  • Support and assist in business applications projects
  • Any ad-hoc project as required

F&A:

F&A to lead and oversee all financial activities to the integrity of all financial transactions and records in accordance with company's policies and general finance and accounting standard, and credibility of information ensuring management's prudent decision making. Main responsibilities focus on 5 key areas, Accounting, Costing, Compliance, Tax & Treasury, and System & Process Improvement

1. Accounting

  • Lead, monitor and guide team to maintain financial records to comply with company policies and general accounting standard and principle
  • Timely and accurate monthly account closing and quarterly balance sheet review
  • Provide financial report and variance analysis for decision support to management
  • Focus on critical key controls over sensitive areas i.e. revenue recognition, trade spend and A&P management
  • Working capital management through Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC)
  • Ensure planning models are in line with actual recording
  • Liaise with Regional/HQ team on all financial & accounting activities

2. Costing

  • Oversee to ensure that standard cost is set properly and accurately
  • Provide financial report on actual performance and variance analysis for decision support to management
  • Support on cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts.
  • Manage inter-company prices as per policies

3. Compliance

  • Ensure internal audit points and agreed recommendations are implemented timely
  • Monitor compliance with corrective actions by both internal and external auditors
  • Review and ensure relevancy of company financial & accounting policies including authorization matrix
  • Liaise with SBFA Internal Audit team

4. Tax & Treasury

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal and financial regulations i.e. VAT, WHT, CIT, GAAP, Customs, etc.
  • Cash flow management to minimize interest expenditure and foreign exchange exposure
  • Ensure compliance with company Treasury policies and procedures

5. System & Process Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities constantly to increase efficiency
  • Support and assist in business applications projects
  • Any ad-hoc project as required

Job Specification:

  • Minimum 15-20 years of work experience and at least 3-5 years in similar capacity of FD/CFO in MNCs or fast pace environment
  • Leadership maturity and strong leadership within own function and partnership with cross-function team
  • Ability to lead new processes and drive changes while creating positive working environment
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Agile, flexible, positive attitude and respect others
  • Team player, self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure
