The Chief Information Officer's role is to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that align with the strategic direction of the business.
Strategy & Planning
- Participate in strategic and operational governance processes as a member of the regional leadership team.
- Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve company goals using innovative IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT solutions across the organisation.
- Reorganise and maintain an effective IT organisation structure that stabilises the current environment first - then drives the IT strategy going forward.
- Identify opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources.
- Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments.
- Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Lead and drive continuous technological innovation in Ecommerce, Mobile Application, POS, ERP and other end user/business technologies.
Operational Management
- Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users, third parties and monitoring of IT systems performance.
- Works in a consultative fashion with other business stakeholders and/or functional HODs from Marketing, CRM, Operations, Ecommerce, Finance, Warehouse, HR as an advisor of technologies that would improve their efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business goals.
- Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations of the various countries in which the group operates.
- Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities.
- Monitors information technology security practices to ensure technology infrastructure is appropriately available and secure from unauthorized access, inappropriate alteration or destruction.
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience working in an MNC and/or global business - preferably within retail.
- Excellent knowledge of latest business technology advancement including mobile and ecommerce.
