About the Role
We are partnering exclusively with a leading client in the retail entertainment industry to identify an experienced and versatile HR Manager / Senior HR Manager. This is a pivotal role where you will oversee the full spectrum of HR functions and play a key part in ensuring business success through effective people strategies. The role will manage a lean HR team of two executives and report directly to regional stakeholders, including close collaboration with leadership based in Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations with a focus on Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and HR Policy implementation.
- Drive recruitment efforts to ensure all sites across Malaysia are consistently well-staffed, addressing current hiring challenges with resourceful and creative solutions.
- Manage payroll checking and ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2 HR Executives to deliver efficient and effective HR support to the business.
- Partner with business leaders and operations teams to align HR strategies with business goals, while balancing assertiveness with collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support and contribute to organizational transformation, change initiatives, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Self-driven, hands-on, and comfortable working independently in a lean team setup.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proven track record in Talent Acquisition, with the ability to source and attract talent through creative and effective strategies.
- Preferably with experience in the retail sector at some point in their career.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and local languages, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the region.
- Confident, assertive, and capable of constructively challenging operations while being supportive and collaborative.
- Experience working in organizations undergoing transformation or change, with the resilience to adapt and drive HR initiatives in evolving environments.
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
- Successful staffing and retention across all Malaysian sites, ensuring the business remains adequately resourced to operate effectively.
