Job Summary

  • Responsible for defining a forward-looking roadmap and delivering scalable, future-ready solutions within the domain of cards and digital payments.
  • Accountable for architecture design and end-to-end solution delivery for card issuance and transaction processing systems.
  • Engage in technical solution development, stakeholder coordination, vendor management, budgeting, and implementation tracking.
  • Proactively manage technical risks and devise mitigation plans.
  • Deep domain expertise in issuing/acquiring transactions and relevant operational standards.
  • Familiarity with systems such as card management platforms (e.g., card linking systems and C-series platforms), and messaging standards like ISO 8583.
  • Direct experience with schemes including Visa, Mastercard, and other national networks, including scheme compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of integrations with processors and national platforms is desirable.
  • Understanding of web service protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON) and back-office interfaces.
  • Exposure to security technologies including HSM configuration, encryption standards (3DES, AES, SM4), hashing (SHA), and cryptographic key management.
  • Awareness of chip-based standards (EMV), compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, PA DSS), and tokenization or 3DS implementations.
  • Prior involvement in EFT switching environments or online transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on usage of automation tools and simulators for testing and validation.
  • Exposure to modern wallet technologies (e.g., mobile NFC, QR-based payment, and digital token-based solutions) is an added advantage.
  • Solid command of Unix/Linux systems, including shell scripting for automation.
  • Comfortable with various development lifecycles including waterfall and iterative/agile delivery models.
  • Strong communicator across both technical and business stakeholder groups.
  • Actively shares insights and mentors peers within the domain.
  • Effective in issue resolution, prioritisation, and time management.
  • Takes initiative in information gathering, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Prior banking or payments industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based implementations and digital transformation journeys is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of open banking APIs and integration patterns is a plus.
  • Capable of reviewing requirements, conducting impact and gap analyses, producing architecture blueprints, scoping efforts, and producing required documentation (functional specs, technical designs).
  • Recognised as a domain lead or subject matter expert with both technical and business fluency.
  • Demonstrates cross-team collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and strong influencing skills at multiple levels.

Skills and Experience

  • Practical knowledge of card issuing, encryption protocols, digital interfaces, and messaging frameworks.
  • Experienced in contact/contactless card systems, scheme integrations, and transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with data security requirements including PCI compliance.
  • Direct integration experience with major card schemes is essential; additional exposure to regional or national switch integrations is beneficial.
  • Hands-on exposure to modern wallet ecosystems and QR/evolving payment mechanisms is a plus.
  • Solid background in API-driven integrations and service orchestration.
  • Strong documentation and architecture design capabilities.
  • Problem-solver with strong team orientation and delivery focus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 8 to 15 years of relevant industry experience in financial systems, technology delivery, or payments innovation.
