Our client, a leading global FMCG company, is seeking an Accounting and Tax Manager to join their team. This role carries end-to-end responsibility for accounting and tax operations for Thailand entity, ensuring financial records, statutory filings, and tax submissions remain accurate, timely, and fully compliant with local and company's requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete monthly and year-end close process within the company's ERP platform, and oversee reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts (bank, receivables, payables, deposits, fixed assets, and inventory-related ledgers), ensuring open items are resolved promptly.
- Compile and review monthly financial statements in line with TFRS and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors throughout the statutory audit and company’s reporting cycle.
- Uphold the accuracy and structure of the chart of accounts and general ledger mapping, and coordinate intercompany reconciliations and settlements across entities.
- Take full ownership of corporate tax compliance, covering monthly VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax filings, along with the underlying reconciliations, timely submissions, and payments.
- Track developments in regulations, assess their business implications, and lead the response to any tax audits, inquiries, or notices, engaging external advisors where needed.
- Contribute to transfer pricing documentation and related-party transaction reporting, ensuring all tax positions are well substantiated and properly recorded.
- Strengthen internal controls across accounting and tax processes in line with company and regulatory standards, while identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Partner with Finance and business teams to ensure transactions are accounted for correctly, provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff, and act as the key finance contact for HQ and regional stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on accounting and tax experience, ideally in retail or FMCG setting
- Solid working knowledge of Thai tax rules (VAT, WHT, CIT) and TFRS, backed by hands-on experience handling revenue department filings and audits.
- Comfortable working with ERP systems as well as planning/consolidation tools.
- Strong Excel skills, with a bonus for experience building reconciliation or reporting tools.
- Fluent in both Thai and English.
