Chief Finance Officer
Confidential Retained Search | Manila, Philippines
We are partnering with an international B2B supply chain / distribution group on a retained and confidential search for a Chief Finance Officer in the Philippines.
This is a senior country finance leadership mandate for one of the group’s most important Southeast Asia markets. The role r eports directly to the Global CFO and partners closely with the Philippines Market Managing Director and senior leadership team.
Importantly, this mandate carries clear International/Global CFO succession relevance. The business is looking for a finance leader who can succeed in the Philippines today, while also demonstrating the commercial judgement, leadership maturity and transformation capability required to be assessed for broader regional / Group CFO leadership over the mid-term.
The successful candidate will lead the full Philippines finance function, strengthen performance discipline, improve ways of working, and act as a strategic business partner to both market and group leadership.
This role will suit a CFO, Finance Director, Country Finance Head or Regional Finance Leader who has operated in scale, understands the Philippines market, and has the presence, judgement and change leadership capability to be considered beyond a country finance seat over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Philippines finance function across financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting, treasury, tax, credit control, collections, principal accounts, finance operations and shared services.
- Partner the Market MD and senior leadership team on commercial finance, business performance, contracts, CAPEX, working capital, risk management and profitability.
- Drive finance transformation, process improvement, operating model change, controls, governance and performance management.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and business review processes with clear financial insight and decision support.
- Manage stakeholders across group finance, business leadership, principals, banks, auditors, tax authorities, regulators and external partners.
- Build, assess and develop finance talent, strengthening capability, succession planning and change readiness.
Key Requirements
- Senior finance leadership experience as a CFO, Finance Director, Country Finance Director, Country Finance Head, Head of Finance or Regional Finance Director.
- Strong Philippines market understanding, ideally with regional or international exposure.
- Experience in complex B2B, healthcare, pharmaceutical, distribution, logistics, FMCG, consumer, industrial or operationally intensive environments.
- Full-suite finance leadership across controllership, FP&A, treasury, tax, working capital, commercial finance, business partnering, governance and controls.
- Proven track record in transformation, change management, process improvement, operating model improvement or organisational capability building.
- Commercially sharp, hands-on and credible with senior stakeholders, including country leadership, group leadership and board-level audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership maturity and enterprise-level potential to be considered for broader regional / Group CFO responsibilities over time.
- CPA qualification is strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a commercial CFO and change agent, not just a technical finance operator.
You should be able to lead with control and governance, while also challenging the business, improving financial discipline, driving transformation, and strengthening the finance organisation for its next phase.
This role is especially relevant for a finance leader who wants more than a country finance seat: someone who is ready to prove they can lead a major market today and be assessed for future Group CFO-level responsibility over the mid-term.
The company is open to Philippines-based and international candidates, provided there is strong Philippines market relevance. Filipino finance leaders with regional or international experience are strongly encouraged to explore the opportunity.
Confidentiality
This is a confidential retained search. Further details will be shared with suitable candidates after an initial discussion.
To express interest or recommend a relevant senior finance leader, please reach out for a confidential conversation.
