Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller
with a strong background in th
e insurance domain
to join our team. This role will focus on designing and maintaining scalable data models that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making across key insurance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
aligned with business requirements
- Work closely with business stakeholders (underwriting, claims, policy, actuarial) to translate requirements into data structures
- Build and optimize data models for data warehouses and analytics platforms
- Ensure data consistency, quality, and integrity
across multiple data sources
- Collaborate with data engineers to support ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Define and maintain data standards, naming conventions, and data governance practices
- Support reporting and BI teams by providing well-structured and scalable data models
- Perform data analysis and profiling
to validate model design and data accuracy
- Document data models, data lineage, and metadata for internal use
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience
in data modelling or data architecture
- Strong experience in the insurance industry(e.g., policy, claims, underwriting, or actuarial data)
- Solid understanding of data modelling techniques(ER modelling, dimensional modelling – star/snowflake schemas)
- Proficiency in SQL
and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with data warehousing concepts
and large-scale datasets
- Familiarity with data modelling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms(AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory reporting
or data standards
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Exposure to BI tools(Tableau, Power BI)
