Data Scientist, Cards and Payments

Argyll Scott is hiring a Data Scientist, Cards and Payments, to join our consulting division in Singapore.

We are building our consulting team and are looking for a Data Scientist to join us as a consultant, deployed on client missions. Your first mission is already secured: a global payments technology leader, working directly with a leading issuer bank in Singapore on its card portfolio.

You will turn transaction, portfolio and customer data into insights and recommendations for the bank's leadership, as a trusted advisor to both teams.

What you will do on the first mission

- Analyse large transaction and portfolio datasets to find growth, engagement and profitability opportunities
- Build insights across the cardholder lifecycle: acquisition, activation, spend, retention and attrition
- Produce senior management dashboards, business reviews and executive presentations
- Define KPIs and performance frameworks for planning and reviews
- Build segmentation and predictive models to support product, marketing and loyalty decisions
- Automate recurring reporting and create reusable analytical assets
- Present findings to senior business leaders

What we are looking for

- 5+ years in advanced analytics, data science, business intelligence or consulting analytics
- Strong Python and SQL, plus Power BI or Tableau
- Statistical modelling, machine learning and customer segmentation experience
- Able to turn complex analysis into clear business recommendations for executives
- Independent: structures problems and leads workstreams without daily supervision
- Banking, cards, payments or retail banking data experience is strongly preferred
- Client-facing consulting experience and Gen AI tools are a plus
