Investment Project Manager (Contract)

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking an experienced Investment Project Manager to support the integration of its business. The role will work closely with the Investment team and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the legal, regulatory, strategic and operational requirements of the investment function are addressed throughout the integration. The successful candidate will combine strong project management and execution capability with solid knowledge of investment portfolios, investment operations and governance within an insurance or insurance-linked asset management environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the planning and implementation of investment-related integration activities.
• Work closely with the CIO, Investment, Risk, Finance and Operations teams to assess business impacts and future requirements and support the formulation of integration strategy.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across Investment, Risk, Finance and Operations.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including fund managers, custodians, bank counterparties and other service providers.
• Lead and work with the Investment team to support the successful implementation of integration-related activities.
• Manage project progress, timelines and deliverables, adapting plans where required to ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and manage project-related documentation.
• Conduct project reviews and prepare detailed reports for relevant committees.
• Support the development and enhancement of investment governance and standards in relation to the integration programme.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience across portfolio management, analytics, investment processes, governance and oversight, ideally within an insurance company or insurance-linked asset management environment.
• Strong knowledge of investment asset classes, including derivatives, with understanding of alternative investments also important.
• Relevant experience and knowledge of investment operations.
• Strong project management experience with demonstrated execution capability.
• Ability to manage multiple project elements simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivery timelines.
• University degree with solid experience in the insurance and asset management industry.
• Additional professional qualifications in Finance, Actuarial or Investment disciplines, such as CFA, would be advantageous.
• Understanding of investment operations and related systems would be preferred.
• Strong analytical, technical, organisational and planning skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Action-oriented, deadline-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team.
