About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Governance Manager to establish, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide IT governance across a global organization undergoing significant digital transformation.
This role will partner closely with IT leadership, PMO, Cyber Security, Architecture, Procurement, Finance, and business stakeholders to develop governance frameworks, policies, controls, and performance management processes that enable effective decision-making, risk management, compliance, and value delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building governance capabilities from the ground up while driving alignment across multiple business divisions, countries, and technology functions.
Key Responsibilities
IT Governance & Frameworks
- Develop and maintain the IT Governance Framework, operating model, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Establish governance processes covering technology, projects, service management, risk, security, compliance, and vendor management.
- Define governance principles, decision rights, approval structures, and accountability models.
- Drive adoption of governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, NIST, ISO27001, and other relevant best practices.
Policy & Control Management
- Develop, review, and maintain enterprise-wide IT policies, standards, controls, and guidelines.
- Establish governance review cycles to ensure policies remain relevant and aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate policy compliance assessments and remediation activities.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
Portfolio & Performance Governance
- Define governance processes for IT demand management, project prioritization, and investment decision-making.
- Establish KPI frameworks, governance dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Monitor governance maturity, compliance levels, project health, and service performance.
- Provide visibility of key risks, issues, and performance trends to senior leadership.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business and technology leaders across multiple divisions and regions.
- Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and decision-making boards.
- Influence stakeholders without direct authority to ensure governance adoption and compliance.
- Drive alignment between business priorities and technology governance requirements.
Risk & Compliance
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk, and Internal Audit teams to ensure governance requirements are embedded into operational processes.
- Support technology risk assessments, control reviews, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Promote a culture of governance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
- Assess governance maturity and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Benchmark governance practices against industry standards.
- Lead governance transformation initiatives and capability-building programs.
Requirements
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in IT Governance, PMO, Technology Risk, IT Strategy, or Enterprise Transformation.
- Proven experience designing or implementing governance frameworks in large-scale organizations.
- Experience working across multiple countries, business functions, and stakeholder groups.
- Background in digital transformation, shared services, or enterprise IT operating model environments is highly preferred.
