Commercial Excellence and Retail Operations Lead APAC

Location: Flexible within Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, or Jakarta) Sector: Healthcare / Life Sciences / Consumer Health

The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented leader for a confidential regional mandate within a global healthcare organization. This role is a strategic and operational "bridge," responsible for driving sales excellence across Pharmacy, Retail, and Key Account Management (KAM) channels throughout Southeast Asia.

As a member of the regional leadership team, you will be the primary partner to Country General Managers and Sales Heads, ensuring that local field operations are efficient, data-driven, and aligned with global best practices.

The Profile: Who You Are

This is a "player-coach" role. We are looking for a commercial architect who understands the mechanics of how a product moves from a warehouse to a patient, particularly in the OTX (Prescription-driven Retail) and Consumer Healthcare space.

Your Core Capabilities:

  • The Analytical Strategist: You have a deep understanding of field force sizing, deployment, and ROI. You can look at a market and calculate the exact FTE requirements and product allocation needed to win.
  • The Operational Expert: You are proficient in the "engine room" of sales—specifically CRM systems, Business Intelligence tools, and incentive compensation modeling.
  • The People Developer: You recognize that commercial success depends on talent. You have experience in identifying the right recruitment profiles, designing coaching frameworks for managers, and building clear career progression paths to reduce turnover.
  • The Cross-Functional Partner: You speak the language of Finance, HR, and Marketing, translating complex field data into strategic insights for regional executive committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Force Effectiveness: Design and implement robust performance management modules, from segmentation and targeting to activity tracking and KPI analysis.
  • Retail & Trade Excellence: Support countries in developing Trade Marketing, Pharmacist training, and sell-out development activities (visibility, promotion, and category management).
  • Regional Reporting: Provide the Regional Office with critical figures and reports to support budget preparation, forecasting, and multi-year strategic plans.
  • Transformation & Coaching: Roll out corporate tools and ensure coaching processes are in place for first and second-line managers to increase in-field effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Industry Expertise: Proven track record in the Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare, or Retail environment. You must understand pharmacy dynamics and how to drive sell-out through merchandising and trade tools.
  • Leadership Presence: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. You must be able to motivate remote teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Language: High level of verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel up to 60% across the region to provide on-the-ground support to local country teams.

Why Apply?

  • This role offers the autonomy to lead a critical regional function while remaining close to the "action" of local markets. If you are a proactive leader who thrives in an independent, high-pressure environment and enjoys building commercial systems from the ground up, we would like to hear from you.
