Technology Strategy Consultant – Insurance / 6-Month Contract

We are supporting a leading insurance organisation looking for a Technology Strategy Consultant to support a strategic review across Hong Kong and selected APAC markets.

The role will focus on reviewing the existing technology landscape, identifying where common platforms and approaches could be introduced, and helping develop practical recommendations for the technology leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess technology solutions, applications and platforms across Hong Kong and other APAC markets.
• Identify opportunities for greater standardisation, platform consolidation and reuse of common technology solutions.
• Support reviews around application rationalisation and areas of technology duplication.
• Work with technology and business stakeholders to understand local market requirements and challenges.
• Develop clear recommendations and options for future technology direction.
• Prepare presentations and materials for senior technology and business stakeholders.
• Support the CIO and technology leadership team with research, analysis and strategic technology initiatives.
• Consider opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies as part of the wider technology strategy.

Experience Required

• Experience in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, solution architecture or technology consulting.
• Previous experience within the insurance industry, ideally in Hong Kong with broader APAC exposure.
• Understanding of application rationalisation, platform consolidation and enterprise technology landscapes.
• Ability to analyse technology environments and translate findings into clear and practical recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, with confidence working with senior technology stakeholders.
• Experience working across multiple business units or markets would be advantageous.
• Exposure to AI, GenAI or AI-enabled technology solutions would be a strong plus.

It would suit someone with a consulting, architecture or strategy background who enjoys assessing complex technology environments and helping organisations make better decisions around platforms, applications and future technology direction.
